Sustainable Football was founded in 2020 by Thom Rawson.

Thom Rawson is a football-sustainability expert who has worked alongside football clubs from non-league to the Premier League.

Sustainable Football supports football clubs and organisations by providing specialist sustainability consultancy, strategy development, programme management and industry guidance.

In 2021, Thom became the first Chief Sustainability Officer in English football with Hanwell Town FC, and has featured on BBC Sport, Sky, The Daily Mirror and The Price of Football podcast, guest lectured for the Football Business Academy’s Masters Program, and presented for the Johan Cruyff Institute.

Thom works as Head of Sustainability at Football For Future, a football-environmental charity with a mission to build a more sustainable culture within the beautiful game.

He is an established sustainability professional with a decade of experience focused on sustainable transport and infrastructure, and was named among edie’s 30 under 30 Class of 2020 for Sustainability Leaders.

Since studying Geography at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall campus, he’s formed part of an award-winning energy management team, worked on one of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects and trained with the SAS.
